Limited One-Year Warranty

This is a limited warranty. It is given by Damon Howatt Productions LLC, 1940 River Rd, Lebanon, OR 97355, USA ("Damon Howatt", "we") on new Damon Howatt bows.

What is covered, and for how long

We warrant to the original purchaser that each new Damon Howatt bow is free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase. The purchase date is the date on your damonhowatt.com order confirmation or on your authorized dealer's receipt.

Who is covered

The original purchaser only, whether you bought the bow from damonhowatt.com or from an authorized Damon Howatt dealer. This warranty is not transferable: it does not pass to anyone who buys or receives the bow second-hand.

Registration

Please register your bow on this page within 30 days of purchase. Registration records your serial number, purchase date and ownership so that a claim can be handled without delay, and registered owners get expedited support on any question about their bow. If you did not register, your rights under this warranty are not affected as long as you can show proof of purchase (your damonhowatt.com order number or your dealer receipt) when you make a claim.

What is not covered

  • Strings, arrow rests, stringers, bow socks and any other accessories, whether they came with the bow or were bought separately. These are covered only by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Normal wear: wear and scuffs to the finish, string stretch and wear, scratches, dents and other marks from use, and natural changes in the color or figure of the wood.
  • Cosmetic blemishes that were described and photographed in the listing of a blemished ("blem") bow.
  • Damage caused by abuse, misuse, neglect or accident, including: dry-firing (shooting the bow without an arrow); shooting arrows lighter than 10 grains per pound of the bow's marked draw weight; shooting arrows of the wrong spine; shooting the bow outside its recommended brace height; drawing the bow past the maximum draw length for the model; stringing the bow without a bow stringer (for example by stepping through it or twisting it between your legs); leaving the bow strung for long periods; and storing or leaving the bow in a hot vehicle, in direct heat or in wet conditions.
  • Damage caused by alterations or repairs not made by us: refinishing, drilling, cutting, sanding, adding or removing parts, or changing the bow's design in any way.
  • Bows bought used, or from anyone other than damonhowatt.com or an authorized dealer.

Whether a problem is a defect or the result of misuse is decided by our technical staff after inspecting the bow. We will tell you what we found.

What we will do

If a bow has a defect in material or workmanship that shows up within the warranty period, we will repair it at no charge. If it cannot be repaired, we will replace it with the same model or, if that model is not available, with a comparable current model of equal value; we may substitute equivalent parts if the original parts are no longer available. A repaired or replacement bow is covered for the rest of the original one-year period. Repair or replacement is the only remedy under this warranty; refunds are available separately under our 30-day money-back guarantee, not under this warranty.

How to make a claim

  1. Within the warranty period, email HowattArchery@Gmail.com (preferred) or call (541) 870-4661, or contact the authorized dealer you bought the bow from. Tell us the bow's serial number, your purchase date (with proof of purchase if the bow is not registered) and what happened, and send photos.
  2. Do not ship the bow until we have given you a Return Authorization (RA) number. A bow that arrives without an RA number cannot be matched to a claim and may be delayed or sent back.
  3. Pack the bow unstrung in a sturdy box with the limb tips well padded, write the RA number on the box, and ship it to the address we give you. You pay the shipping cost to our shop. If a limb or the bow broke, include the arrow you were shooting when it happened; we need it to inspect the failure.
  4. We inspect the bow. If the problem is covered, we repair or replace the bow at no charge and pay the return shipping to you. If it is not covered, we tell you what we found; you can have the bow returned at your shipping cost, or ask us for a quote to repair it at your expense.

Limits on this warranty

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY ON A DAMON HOWATT BOW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE-YEAR PERIOD OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

DAMON HOWATT PRODUCTIONS LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES arising from a defect in or failure of a bow, such as lost hunts, travel costs, or damage to arrows, targets or other equipment. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. It is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon and applicable US federal law, including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

Safety disclaimer (read before using)

A bow stores a great deal of energy and is inherently dangerous if it is misused, damaged or neglected. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Damon Howatt Productions LLC is not liable for property damage, personal injury or death resulting from the use or misuse of its products. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

If you are not willing to accept these responsibilities, contact HowattArchery@Gmail.com for a full, no-questions-asked return and refund before you use the bow or open the sealed plastic bag it ships in. You pay the shipping charges back to our shop.
